If you would like to turn cookies on and use the Adoptafarm site, please follow the instructions below: Internet Explorer 6 Most browsers normally allow cookies but IE 6 stops all cookies unless you allow them, which you can do for particular trusted sites such as AdoptaFarm. To allow cookies from AdoptaFarm you must click "View" on the top level IE6 menu. Select "Privacy Report" and select "All Web Sites" in the show box. You will see a list of sites which have sent cookies blocked by IE6. In that list you may see http://www.adoptafarm.com/. To change the setting click the "Settings" button and then the "Advanced" button, you can then set the browser to "Override Automatic Cookie Handling" by checking the check box. You can further set the browser to prompt you when a site is trying to use cookies (which is probably a good idea). When you receive a cookie from a site you will be asked if you would like to accept all cookies from the site which will save you having to accept them manually every time. Internet Explorer 5 If you're using Internet Explorer 5, click on the Tools button at the top of your browser, and then select Internet Options.
In the window that opens, click on the Security tab at the top and then the Custom Level button at the bottom.
Scroll down the list that appears, until you reach the title Cookies, and the subtitle Allow Per-Session Cookies then select Enable below that.
If you're using Internet Explorer 4, click on the View button at the top of you browser, and then select Internet Options. In the window that opens, click on the Advanced tab, scroll down the list until you reach the Cookies section and select Always accept cookies. Click OK to continue. Netscape If you are a Netscape user, simply click on the Edit button at the top of your browser and then select Preferences from the options offered.
In the window that appears, go to the list titled Advanced and click on Accept all cookies.
Most surfers are not yet on IE6 and cookies are dropped into your PC all over the web. IE6 will make you more aware that sites are dropping cookies into your PC which is probably not a bad idea really, but it will create a lot of work for a lot of web developers. To adopt a lamb through AdoptaFarm you MUST allow cookies from the site. After completing the adopt a lamb process you can switch the cookies off. |
