22.05.2003: Little Emily has been born
01.05.2003: Now little Emily is one week old - and she likes the great weather and she really likes to rollick with the other lambs.
09.06.2003: today it was a little bit cold and wet - and Emily had to sneeze - poor little lamb! But now she's fine again :-)
16.06.2003: Auntie Sabine came to feed Emily today. She always brings some daisies or other sweets. Yummyumm! Sabine is such a nice and lovely person!
29.06.2003: Auntie Sabine came to feed Emily again. She has a lot of work to do with her own sheep (Little Susi), but she always finds time to visit Emily. Emily was a little bit cheeky today.
Angelo came to visit Emily, too and she only wanted some pieces of shamrock as an evening-snack... now she's gone to bed and dreams of little sheep... sheep... sheep... zzz ZZZ zzz ZZZ!
30.07.2003: It's been almost a month since Auntie Sabine visited Emily last. Now she was very suprised to see how much Little Emily has grown!

Had a good feed and played in the field. Another lovely day ahead in the green , green grass of home. I love it here.
Another day, another dollar. The weather's great and the grass is good for autumn.
Almost the end of the month. It's getting wetter and windier, but the grass looks like it's still growing, green and lush.
Last day of November ('07) and all's well. Bit windy though, at least it's dry.
December/07: the weather's great for the time of year. The grass still tastes sweet and there's time for a bit of fun too.
It's turned a bit colder, that wind's bitter and it gusts across the top field.
It's a lot colder now, wet, windy and dark most of the day but nearly Christmas. Hoorah!!
Still cold and wet, but some sunshine so it's not all bad. Long dark nights too, but a new year just around the corner and Farmer Bob is keeping the hay racks full.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Is it my imagination, or does the grass taste of whisky?

It's June already. Summer's nearly here and life's fantastic. The weather's great, I'm eating well and there's loads to do every day.

This weather is incredible. Typically British, one minute warm and sunny, the next, a deluge and gales. Great Britain!!
What a summer! At least, it's not cold. There's plenty to do in the fields and loads to play on round the barn.
The nights are drawing in and there was a bit of frost yesterday, but the grass is still juicy and growing.
What a difference! Dark, cold and wet.

Nearly December. Where's the year gone?
Christmas again!
Happy New Year (2009) - another great day on the hillside!
It's a lot colder now. Snow, strong winds and not much to do!
Spring is almost here and I feel great.
Spring is here and there are lots of lambs in the field. I'm a year old now a lot bigger than the new lambs, but they will grow quickly because the grass is so lush.
Into the summer now and I've got three new friends. They are New Hampshire Red Bantams called Tikka, Nuggett and Pox.
Autumn's here again (October 2009), the nights are getting longer and a bit colder, and it won't be long before the farmer has to batten down the hatches.
Wet, windy and sometimes pretty cold, but they breed us bloomin' hard up here!
Another year nearly over. I'm looking forward to 2010.
2010 is here and I've never seen snow like it!
Spring is almost sprung. There's still a bit of snow, it's quite cold and windy, but the sun's getting warmer.
Spring is here. The clocks are going forward this weekend and life's been good to me so far.
It's great, the grass is lush and the sun is warm.
Summer is almost over. It's been fun, I've got lots more friends (Sept 2010).

Brandon was adopted by Victoria and Tracey to celebrate their 4th and 5th grade Sunday school class at St. Mark's Church (Jennifer and Amanda Trecartin, Kayla Soule, Erin Kelley, Lily Holt, Emily Doiron, Brandon Clark, Nicole Blaney and Kristina Barry). The class named their lamb Brandon after the only male "lamb of God" in the class.

Eventually Lola made it to shore with one final glance back, she took a deep breath and, ventured towards land. She had left the sea behind her for good. With the new experiences that lay ahead of Lola she decided it was best to leave her clam as she left behind her sea. With this Lola transformed into the most beautiful baby lamb that anyone had ever laid eyes upon. With her new found legs Lola frolicked towards the sand dunes and with great difficulty made her way over them to a nearby paddock. Here she found plenty of other baby lambs and sheep with whom she lived happily ever after. To remember her roots Lola carries around her neck a single pearl on a black ribbon.

Bruno has been a bit bored in recent times... the other lambs have been not doing much other than munching grass but Bruno is a lamb who really enjoys variety and spice in his social life... at the start of November he and Maximus (his friend-sheep from Wellington) organised a meet-a-sheep programme for lonely sheep to meet one another from different parts of the world... it has taken off in many countries and sheep are actively involved in meeting overseas sheep in many countries, but unfortunately British sheep aren't as welcoming as their counterparts in other countries and he's feeling a but miserable as a result... However, his warm wooly coat is keeping him nice and warm at the moment and his Mummysheep Agatha is very pleased with him so he gets lots of sheep hugs which he likes a lot :-)
Bruno spends his time talking to the other lambs. The best lamb is apparently Anna; she's nearly at the top of the table now! - Can't see why when Bruno is so clearly such a lovable, caring and generally wonderful sheep :-)

Ran around the world yesterday and although I saw some beautiful areas, my home in Loch Du (my spellings not good yet!) is one of the prettiest...I'd say right up there with Doolin (after which I am named) in County Clare, Eire. Hope you are having fun in your travels too! Well, I'm off to see what my pals are doing.
Hi again! I'm back from running around with the other lambs. Boy, am I ever growing and getting so strong...pretty soon I'll be a sheep, guess I better enjoy my childhood while I can. Well, it's getting to be a bit chilly over here this fall. My adopted mom tells me she's from sunny south in USA and that I woudn't be happy there 'cuz it's so hot. I asked Mom to come visit me and she's planning to do just that! Oh boy...can't wait to show her how big and strong I am!
You know, there are lots more lambs here who haven't been as lucky as me...why don't you think about adopting one?
Notice my ear standing straight up? That's because I'm musically inclined and can hear the sofest notes. Haven't decided what instrument I'm going to take up. I think it might be the bodhran...I'll be good at percussion. Don't think I'm quite ready for the bagpipes. Well, off to work on rhythm and blues. Please email me. I am clearly a superior sheep - look at the way I look down my nose at you. My owner loves sheep and thinks we are quite intelligent when most people think we are stupid. We are actually VERY clever but by pretending to be stupid no-one expects anything of us. Look at those sheep dogs - everyone knows how clever they are and they work flat out running around all day. We can out-sheep them if we want just by going the wrong way round a gate. We can wait. One day sheep will rule the world.

Mom's at college most of the day, then she has to go take care of her new red roan colt that she calls Mo but she says his real name is Sea Lady's Antares. She adopted a bunny from the animal rescue leauge and his name is Cinnabun. Mom loves the way my wool feels, she says i'm the best looking sheep out there. I'm getting great big and strong. I love the way my horns look and mom says that they are a great hand hold to walk me by. I love it when she comes to visit me and all my pals. I can't wait to meet Mo, I think we'll get to be the best of friends.

Baaaaa heck but the winter is finally over and now i have a spring in my step as i skip round the field here on the farm.
I think i'm doing really well even though that piece of straw is still stuck in my teeth but on the other hand i think it makes me look pretty darn cool.
I've spent the winter in playing war with my fellow sheepies and golly but i am not baaaad at it now! I think i even have some muscles which is jolly good cos it means i can race round the field and not get puffed.
Right, i see Farmer Bob on his tractor and i am legging it to the far end of the field cos i heard that he has some sharp needles and what he calls medicine for us young uns and i aint keen! Keep that needle baaaaack! Oh no Farmer Bob caught me - OUCh that hurts!!

been a little while since i spoke to you all, i have been really busy trying to chat up all the ewes but so far they are resisting my magic charms.
wow what a week this weather has been a nightmare, first I fell on my bum all the other sheep laughed at me so told them where to go!! then my feet got stuck in the ice cos I was out too late partying and fell asleep in the gutter woke up with an almighty handgover and couldn't move...just what I needed but never mind at least I pulled a beauty last night well I think she was a beauty. Oh what a weekend, us lot in the pen decided to do our own x factor thing. Me mate donald and I pretended to be jedward and we when down a storm especially when don fell down and broke his ankle. I was rolling around the floor in fits of laughter. Still have a pain thinking about it now.
Well having a bit of a bad day, my mate minty told me that there are some prowlers about nicking the sheep to make mutton curries, and chops. Minty is a bit scared. Told him to chill out a bit.
after looking up curries they seem like they would be tasty, might have to drag myself off for one. Asked minty but he is still a bit scared, told him not to worry as there is no such thing as a minted lamb curry.
Well what a day so far, seems that my mates minty and chops think I would look good in a dress, told them that they should get lost. Anyway the idiots have gone and got me one and put it on me when I was having a snooze. Anyway will keep you updated with the madness that is the world of derrick.
Going on holiday this weekend going for a little break to iceland apparently got to dress up warm cos it is meant to be cold.
Was getting dead excited then minty told me we were going to iceland the bloody shop.
I am really tired this morning, the other bleeding sheep have been making loads of noise god knows what they were up too. Anyway I am off to have a bit of fun speak to you in a bit.

Brrrrrrr it is cold hate the snow.
I am hoping that santa this year brings me a sheep jumper and some roller blades so I can go crazzzyyyyyy.
not long till santa comes, wonder what he will buy me... also me mams birthday tomorrow so will have to give her a big sheepy cuddle.
Well hope everyone had a good xmas mine was ok but felt a little under the weather to many fags and to much booze I think.
Well the start of a new year tomorrow, I wonder what it brings - hopefully some love and happiness. looking forward to getting a lady friend to run around after me after all I need someone to get me fags for me.

April 27: Well I know it's been a long time but goodness I've just had so much to do! I put on my scientific hat because I'm reading to become the smartest mouton ever! And also preparing for a trip which is going to be a long one, but I'll be able to visit other sheep all over the world and I get to sample all different kinds of grass and sheep cake. Mmmm!
May 30: Well I am taking a trip to Athens right now and I have met many of my fellow mouton cousins, who while silly are still not as silly as me! Some of them have floppy ears, but they still know where the best grass is to be found.
July 9: It's been very hot lately, but I wouldn't give up my woolenness for anything!
July 11: MMMMMMM...... Foodies are yummy but they make me sleepy too.......
August 23: Its been a bit chilly lately, but it's ok since I can cozy up with my other woollen moutons! :D
September 10: Pretty soon I'll be starting school so that I can become a scientifique!
September 23: I'm well on my way toward becoming the most scientifique mouton ever!
October 16: I walked a long way today to find the best sheepcakes and then I ate them :D
November 15: I am getting very woollen so I can be a fur-nice for other moutons.
December 2: I know a very special mouton who is going on a trip for a long time. I hope he brings his woollens and hopefully gets to eat many exotic grasses.
February 7: My birthday is coming up soon - I hope I get lots of sheepcakes to celebrate! And soon I'll be off for a long trip to Japan...I wonder what kind of moutons I'll see there?
April 23: I'm such a confuzzled lately, but maybe some grazing will help sort things out!

I am having a nice rest in the clean straw after being fed and exercised by my new owner Beryl
I am now eagerly waiting to meet Megan and Samuel who Beryl has told me all about.
They are about to have Christmas dinner - thank goodness it isnt lamb!
Well thats a busy month weather awful floods, winds snow and just about every other kind of weather. Ok for you lot tucked in your cosy houses spare a thought for us out in the fields.
Well it now 2007 and lets hope its a good year and not too many people are feeling the cold and need a wooly jumper especially one as cuddly and cute as me.
Luckily only short snap of snow so I was greatful as my hoofs get very chilly and wet. I was also lucky that when my field was under water there was just enough space for me to stand in the dry until I was rescued and moved to another field.
More snow it started early one morning and was deep within a couple of hours. I'm glad I never had to struggle to work like my Beryl.
Roll on the lovely spring weather so I can see all my lamb friends gamboling around
I have been enjoying the lovely hot weather there are lots of lovely Buttercups. I have made friends with the two swans nesting near by the rivers edge. I can not wait to see the Cynets when they hatch.
The 5 cygnets are growing fast and enjoy rides on mums back. I enjoy hearing all about Megan and Samuel. Megan is into poetry and doing cart wheels she shows me them when she visits. Samuel is learning the guitar and doing very well. I am fed up with the weather one day freezing and rain rain rain then it is so hot I wish I didnt have such a nice wooly coat.

Jacob the sheep lived in a biiiiiiig farm he liked to watch Jake the doggy play with the cows every morning. He would then play with Jason the other jacob sheep! Jacob and Jason were best friends! The played tig, hide and seek and lots of games!! One day Jacob woke up to the sound of Jake barking. He moved to the edge of the field and popped his head over the fence but Jacob could not see Jake!
'Meeeeeh' Jacob cried and Jake barked back. Jacob tried to follow Jake's barking and eventually found him! Jake was barking beside the road where a tractor and farmer Jim were. Elly the tractor was lying in a ditch at the side of the road. Jim was shaking his head, wondering what to do. Quickly, Jacob went to get all the jacobs of the field,
'meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh!' He called them and they ran over. A mumble of 'meeehs' broke out along the crowd of gathered jacobs. Jacob quickly explained his plan. All the sheep obeyed. Jacob then called Jake and told him what to do. All the jacob sheep began jumping over the fence! Jim was very startled but, even more startled when the sheep began helping. Jake then came barking down the road, a trail of cows behind him. Altogether, cows, sheep, dog and farmer pulled Elly to safety!
'Well done, Jacob!!' The farmer exlaimed, 'How can I ever repay you?' Of course Jacob could only answer with a 'meh' but Jim got him a golden trough and Jacob forever slept in the big red barn! For all the cows there were big golden bells wrapped round their necks with red ribbon. For jake there was a bed by the fire and a beautiful new collar, and for all the other sheep there were troughs upon troughs of food!

hey, my name is tziganu and i am bern's little pet. sometimes she says that i am a zen sheep, cause whenever she looks into my eyes she sees the reflection of my inner wisdom and peace.
i also have an aunt from romania, who is called doriana and she is kinda freaky. i mean, she is a good person but she's quite scary cause she lives in transylvania and she has vampire blood. i think i won't let her kiss me ....

doriana told me today that bernadette called her in the morning - she was really happy about it. i think bern will pay me a visit today - she's so much fun to be with.
i think dori is catching a cold - she was looking really pale when i saw her - or, maybe she just partied again last night as she has been doing three weeks now. that girl is completely insane - just like a thunderstorm :-)
oh, bern bought for doriana and herself two neighbour craters on Mars - that's so cool - i wonder when will they take me there for a visit .... hmmm, dunno ....
bern has left for ireland - i barely get to see her - and doriana told me that she is sad too not to have bern around in cyberspace every day. bern got a little bit upset with doriana yesterday cause she says that dori needs to change but she is not doing anything to get out of the saftey zone that she has been lying around for over an year. but i know that for dori is hard too, cause there haven't been so many stable things or people in her life lately, so she really tends to hang on to the little that she has. she will change, i know it - just needs time. besides that, it is really hard for dori to accept someone's moral support cause she is this stubborn creature that prides herself on always making it on her own. she has to learn on trying a different way of being ... i am really curious what will happen next ... i think i'm up for a nap now ... bye

Hi saw lots of your distant cousins in Dovedale Derybshire yesterday on a lovely day out and a good walk through the countryside. Hope ewe are getting stronger as I continue to feed ewe upto gladitorial status
Long time since I had a chat with my fellow sheepy friends. Up to December & through January are busy times for my mum but she's looking forward to spring and lots of nice walks in the country to see all my new spring lamb distant relations. It's such a lovely time of year and this horrible cold weather has been going on far to long we all need some sunshine to cheer us up.
Back to work today and the daily work routine following all the other sheep. Would love to be wandering the scottish hillside with all my friends
Being back amongst the sheep isn't all bad it helps pay the bills and theres always the weekends to frolic around with all my friends
Visited some of my distant cousins on a farm near home this week with two classes of Y5 children had a great day weather was brilliant spent lot of time dodging sheep poo and admiring the view. Nothing as hansom as me though!!!
Nearly time to finish school and visit some of my relatives in Wales looking forward to walking in the Brecon beacons and having a good baaaareak. Chat again soon

Well, thank goodness my owner Lynda has turned up to feed and exercise me. After finding out that I could only be fed and exercised every three days I was getting anxious I would be forgotten about. Thankfully, she's turned up with lots of grass (actually, I would have preferred a pizza, but lets keep that to ours selves - she's just a novice). The exercise was quite good, I had a bit of a hoppity skip, gambol etc. Threw myself at the fence hoping to break through to another field but just ended up losing a large tuft of wool. Not looking at be-ewe-tiful as I was. Never mind, it'll grow in again.....
5/3/07.... I've now had a chance to mingle with some other Swaplambs. What a hoot some of them are... there again... there's a few scary ones as well. I bumped into one fella who was desperately in need of a clipping, I've never seen so much wool on one lamb. How does he see where's he's going !!!!
26/3/07..... Well, I'm one month old today and I've come on leaps and bounds (with an odd gambol here and there). Life is really interesting, especially now that the clocks have moved forward and I can stay up late seeing it's lighter at night. I'm making alot of new friends as the field is full of lambs now. Unfortunately, they all look the same to me so it's difficult remembering what names go with what faces. My owner, Lynda, has the same problem when she is voting in the swaplamb battles. I never appear in these, although Lynda says there's a few imposters who try and look like me but they have strange names !!

Here is Flossie the swaplamb. When she was born, her parents took more interest in her siblings, because she was not as white and beautiful as the others. She ate on her own, played on her own and slept on her own. When she tried to talk to the other lambs, she got ignored and pushed away. As she grew up, other ewes, rams and young lambs, started to realise that Flossie was special. Although the sheep started to understand that they had been hurtful, no one apologized. It's October 09. Almost Halloween!!!! and I've just taken care of my swaplamb Fluffy. Isn't she adorable? I love lambs alot so that's why I made an account. Best Birthday present ever! I also collect sheep, lambs, ewes and rams. Don't get excited though........ they are all either glass, plastic or soft animals. I have to have say at least more than 360. But I lost count! It's hard to keep track of when you have as many as me. Sometimes my Dad seems to think I should get rid of some of my lambs. That has to be the only time I disobey my parents. :-)

Well i have given the present and im still feeding and walking hunny x She has gone off to work and not got time!
Hope this isnt what life is going to be like or ill havto take control once more!..........................................................
Well i am now looking after 'hun' our Lambswap and enjoying her x she has eaten all her food and we have walked down the lane and then up the road to the open space x we walked lots and sat and i pointed out a buzzard flying about looking for his din-din but he never caught anything x we sat for some time just breathing in the lovely clean fresh air and watched a farmer across the other side of the valley in his jep going round the field and his sheep running after the jep x bit later on it began to get bit cold so we decided to wander back home but hun wanted to nibble some blueberry leaves and grass on the way back x i picked some of the dried fern while hun was eating x its been a lovely afternoon and so back to the farm x wow x how nice was that?! x very nice x..........................................................
Wel we have been for another walk today... but its getting windy and colder now x We had no rain which was good cos my wool gets very heavy when the rain sits on top of my wool x .......................................................
Its been pouring with rain all day and all nite ere and i just dont lik it cos i cant get up the steep slopes cos its 2 slippery and my wool is heavy with the rain. Hay have you noticed that my legs and face are lik a Jacob's sheep and my wool is white... strange a!..... BUT i know where there is a jacob's sheep!!!!!! smiling x .....................................................Ive had a lovely day today and the weather was nice x the sun was warm on my wool and i enjoyed wondering through the gorse and fern/braken with my family and friends and the ponies x I am enjoying the exercise i get each couple of days x will chat again soon ............................................. Hello again x what a very wet day today and the last couple of days..... and so windy... as i try to walk with my other friends the briars grab my wool and hold me back x it gets tangled up in my wool and i find it hard to reach around and pull it off with my teeth x i just have to wait till my owner can come and pull it all out x i long for summer and my wool to be shaved off and to feel much lighter without it but i must say it does keep me warm in winter x ill chat again soon x smiling x ....................................... Hello u again x its been a beautiful day ere and the sun has been shineing but very wet under hoof!! x it was so lovely to see the blue sky but boy wasnt it windy and cold... arent I glad I have a wooly coat... I dont envy the cows and ponies brrrr x Later on it began to rain and i think it is set in for the nite so im off to find shelter..... smiling x ........................................ Hello u x im tired today with all the walking I have done...walked over hill and vale and am weary....but weather was kinder to me today x smiling x i shud sleep wel 2nite x will chat again soon ................................................... hello u x sun has been ahinning most of the day and its been lovely x I have been with lots of my friends today and we have enjoyed the afternoon x the wind is still very cold and the ground is sodden but spring is coming and then my favourite- summer with the skylarks singing above us x smiling and will write more again soon x Hello u x...................................... well what a day! cloudy again but dry and im darn glad i have a thick wooly coat to keep me warm today! x very cold... and woud go as far as to say it was bitter out there..... I wonder has any 1 got some hoof warmers i coud wear as my hoves were so cold and my ankles cos i dont have wool growing on them.... HELP HELP!! somebody... anybody plse plse come to my rescue and get me some hoof and leg warmers...... its alright cos u can have them bak at the end of this cold spell and ill b fine then.... x laughing x

Shes bit posh but seems friendly x said we would meet up by the thistle bushes to shelter from the rain! hope i get feed before then to keep me warm!.......................................................well i think we will meet up very soon and i think my new friend will be friendly..... she has a beautiful face and her coat is all white...x smiling x and her coat looks so soft and warm.. x i will show her some lovely sweet grass and hopfully have a nice walk x our wool is full of lanoline that keeps t rain from seeping into our skin and with our thick coats, we wil be warm x there is very fine drizzley rain today and we will have to use our voices more to find each other and our other friends.... as there is low cloud up on the moorland x yesterday was lik a spring day and there was some warmth in the sun ......................................... hello again... i have just been feed and watered...... very yummy... and been exercised 2 x I love this exercise my owners giv me and when the weather is fine it makes all the differance cos i can get out to the fresh air and let the sun warm my wooly coat as i exercise x very nice x smiling x.....................................................
Hello all........ just been out for walk with the first one! she said something bout my owner away? and some word called''BIRTHDAY'' not too sure what thats about but sounds nice! they off to moors to sit on the back of those horse things. said it will be fun! dont see it myself. couldhave spent the day feeding their hun but still, their human and no one understands those a! right, now that i'm feed and walked i'll be off to find my friend gorgeous!...............
The first one has just been, feed me, ran me round the field at 90 miles an hour then gone! Humans! Never mind thats me sorted for the day . Wonder wend is? not seen her since this BIRTHDAY thing! Never mind, off to find gorgeous in next barn x ..................................... Well Hun found gorgeous but gorgeous saw that hun was sad and feeling lonely and wanted to make her happy again..... hun very sad and so i nudged her and said Hello! she needed time out for a walk but she had been kept in pen this day and so gorgeous said she will stay with her and keep her company all day and all nite and stay very close with her the next day 2 and the next day and then in a day or 2 gorgeous would take hun out for a walk when the farmer opens the pen nxt week x .......................................

Dad got some sad news today, his husky zenka, escaped from his garden and went chasing after some off my friends in the fields. dad couldnt find her but looked for a long time, she didnt know she was doing anything wrong she killed some of my friends by accident...she was just playing and running with us....later that night dad got the call he worried about, zenka had been shot. Things are very different now at home. He misses her very much, she was a lovely dog that would not mean any harm, i know this to. I hope that time makes him feel better she was very special to him and he wishes he could of said goodbye or took her for one more walk. We will miss you Zenka but you will alwys be in our hearts. Pacha your sister still looks for you to. God Bless. - 1 year on and we still think of you every day. Wish we could see you again, hope you enjoy your fields in the sky love from mum and dad.

Well New Years Eve is over, there were no lovely ewes that took my fancy, well i dont think they like my hairdo actually, so last season.
2008 here i come, look out ladies im coming to get ya. Might even decorate my pen, perhaps a few pictures and a lick of paint although the last time i painted it all stuck to my wool and i looked like a technicoloured dream coat.

I was adopted on 6/11/2009. Today I have had some food and exercise. I am looking forward to X-factor results show. I am backing Jamie as he has woolly hair. MF.
More food for me today. I hope it doesn't rain tomorrow as it makes my wool go all curly. Maybe I will get GHD straighteners from Santa! MF.
Well things have been a bit quiet since Santa came. My adopted mum hasn't been very well but today I have had food and exercise - hurrah!! I am glad the snow has gone too. I worried I would turn into a snow sheep!! MF.

Pearl you are a beautiful lamb! What kind of lamb are you? Pearl are you the one on the left or right of this picture? Who is your friend? I learned to card fleece and spin on a drop spindle and spinning wheel this week. I love working with wool! Next I have to wash some dirty fleece that I bought, card it and spin it. I also need to learn how to dye wool. I have so much to learn about working with raw wool but I really enjoy it! I am a knitter so it will be extra satisfying to knit with the wool that I prepared. It is so much easier to buy skeins at the yarn shop but I wanted to do all the work from the most basic step. Skeins seem expensive at the yarn shop but after doing all this work, I see why skeins seem expensive. It is long hard work to prepare wool into a beautiful dyed skein ready for knitting. Spring is here and I can't wait for it to warm up a bit more so that I can work in the garden. I hope it is warming up where you live too. Have a great week! Pearl and friend - this week I washed then I dyed 10 pounds of wool with kool aid. I have a woolen rainbow in my livingroom. I sit at night watching old movies and carding wool. The fleece I have is from a Corridale that lives in Washington State. What kind of sheep are you? I hope it is lovely weather and that you see some rainbows. I am looking for my first spring rainbow. Have a wonderful week! Hi Pearl and Pearl's friend. I am going to be done school this week. This summer I'll have time to spin wool. I got lucky and bought a spinning wheel for $50. It's a nice old wheel. Then I got lucky again and bought a small wheel for $40. With the small wheel I can take it to spinning bees. I bet your wool has grown some since you were sheered and you now have a soft wooly look instead of a shaved look. Until next time! It's the first day of spring and school is over. I am going to plant some dye plants in my garden. As soon as I get my energy back, I am going to start carding and dyeing all the pounds of wool that I have laying around here. Another thing is that I brought home the silk worms that where in the classrooms. I have to learn how to remove the silk from the cocoons and learn how to use it. See you soon! It's the middle of July and its hot. We are going to the mountains for a vacation, and get some rest and relaxation and its cooler there. My family teases me because of my interest in wool. I haven't visited with you for a long time. How have you and your friend been? I am teaching Spanish at a high school and that keeps me very busy long after I'm done with my classes. Sometimes I wish that I could spend a day romping around a farm, and have my meals brought to me, and not have a care in the world! I wonder what the weather is there now? I am busy learning how to use an embroidery machine. It's cold here and its snug inside while I work like Mrs. Claus on goodies for family and friends. We had a cold snowy winter, but spring finally arrived a few days ago. In just two days buds swelled on trees and the first trees and flowers sprung. In just the last few days the red bud trees, forsythia and daffodils bloomed. My nose has started to itch and so I know that there is a lot of pollen in the air and that pollen will grew more each day as more trees wake up and bloom. I'm home every day now and spend my time sewing and doing things around the house. I am working on having a home sewing business by making fine dresses and christening gowns. Now that the weather is nice I will be going out into the garden and planting new flowers and clearing away the dreary winter raiment. As Farmer Bob takes care of you and the flock, I take care of my mother who is 92 years old and lives with me. The other big thing this year is that my daughter is getting married and we will have a wedding this year. There is a lot to be done for this event. Mike is in Africa on a missions trip. Timmy has a new job. Kaight says she will be moving to California soon. Amy needs to get into college and graduates from high school. I try to help the people in my life and that is my job as the mom of the family, so I am quite busy. Say hi to Paisley for me!
Hi Lambs, it's mid April and I love the weather. I put in about 30 dahlias and 12 gladiolas. The goal is to grow flowers for my daughter's wedding. I have many more bulbs and tubers to put in. I can't wait until I see something sprout. I'm also working on many sewing and quilting projects for many people in my life. I feel really great when I make something that is pretty and useful. My daughter needs to do community service so I suggested that we make little dresses for Africa and so I'm teaching her to sew and together we will make little dresses and little britches for boys. Enjoy the warm breezes on the farm for me!
